Needham Women's Club Membership

Membership in the Needham Women's Club is open to all women living in Needham.  There are about 80 members in the Club and we welcome new members.  The Club is a great way to have fun and get to know some great women while giving back to the community through service projects and fundraisers!

Meetings: The Club meets from September through May.  Our meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of the month and begin at 7:00 p.m. with an informal social time, followed by a guest speaker and then a business meeting.  The meeting schedule for the 2011-2012 year is: October 19, November 16, January 25* (special meeting), February 15, March 21, April 11 and May 16.

Volunteer requirements: In addition to attending monthly meetings, members are expected to give eight volunteer hours to our projects each year.  Two of those hours at our biggest fundraiser of the year: the Holiday House Tour (which will be held on Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2012) and six additional hours on other Club projects. Those projects include: volunteering at the Ellie Bloom Special Olympics, baking for the vets at the VA hospital, volunteering at the Charles River Center, helping out with the Club's annual Santa's Visit program, helping to judge 5th grade essays for our annual essay contest, delivering Traveling Meals, working a shift at the Needham High School All Night Graduation party.

Where our money goes: Our fundraisers generate over $10,000 a year, which we donate back to the community.  Our donations have included: the Needham Community Council, the Walker School toy drive, the Council on Aging, the Board of Health's home heating fund, Needham High's Steps to Success mentoring program for low income students, Needham Youth Services, Baby Basics, the 4th of July parade, the Needham Public Library, BID-Needham, the Charles River Center and two annual scholarships to Needham High graduates.
