The Needham Women's Club is a 70+ member club. Meetings are generally on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm. The meeting locations vary but may include The Needham Historical Society, Wingate at Needham, The Needham Public Library and BIDMC- Needham Hospital. There are no meetings in June, July, August or December.
Most meetings have a featured speaker, refreshments and then business. Board members and chairpersons deliver their reports on community service projects during the business portion of the meeting. The monthly informational newsletter "The Pink Slip" is emailed prior to each meeting to provide information on upcoming events.
Community service projects and fund raising are the main focus of the club, but the social events (holiday party, end of the year dinner, etc.) allow members to network with new members and reconnect with current members.
Membership is open to all Needham Women and does NOT require nomination. Prospective members attend a regular meeting as a guest and a new member informational session. All members are expected to actively support the Ways and Means projects by volunteering their time.
Once an individual decides that they would like to be a member, an application is completed and submitted to the Membership Chair with a check for the annual dues of $40, plus a new member fee of $10. Social event fees are in addition to the yearly dues, but through an annual dump day and other activities funds are raised which offset the full cost of these events for members.
